Team 59,

Hello everyone, I hope hope everything has been going well for the
past several weeks. As for my first update, I have been working on
scheduling times at each high school in my district to visit the
delegates and advisors and hopefully gain a better understanding of
how each chapter is run. Due to the fact that a majority of the
schools in my district are no where near each other and some are about
two hours away from where I am located, this feat has turned out to be
more difficult than initially anticipated. I have also finialized an
event and a group that I will be working with for competition. On a
more personal note, swimming has ended, which has both its positive
and negative attributes; unfortunatly, I'm afraid that the negative
overwhelm the positive. However, I will have a substantially larger
amount of time to devote to school and activities which I desperately
need. As I said earlier, I hope that all is well with everyone and I
am excited to hear how everyone is doing.

Sincerely,

Chris Clark
District 11 Vice-President

Team 59,

Exciting news in D1 is that we have a student board now in place. We have yet to have a full meeting, but because of the sheer vastness of D1 we have to work out the logistics. I spoke in front of the St. Joseph School District Board, last week to pass a resolution concerning DECA Week in St. Joseph. I am speaking to 4 schools in the next two weeks, and hopefully will ignite a passion for DECA in their schools.
Sumo Suits are looking Good right now. I am still deciding on buying or renting because I now have a friend who runs a rental business and she will let us rent them for very cheap.

Team 59,

Hello all! Life is definitely crazy busy right now. Starting with DECA:
Currently, I am working with Mr. Young on refining our Leadership goals for this year. We have come up with some more great ideas and I think you all will love them. We have really been able to expand our scope to include more than just leadership delegates and such, which I think is very important. As far as my Chapter goes: we have our annual blood drive and book fair coming up next month. Elise and I are the Chairs of those events, so we are both really excited about them. I have also recorded the minutes from last meeting, but thought I might try to find some time to refine them a bit before I send those out to you all.
As far as life outside of DECA goes: WOAH! busy.
Work keeps me busy as always (I work at the YMCA with the kiddies). Also, I am now officially CPR certified, so if you should ever need your life saved, I can do it! :) College applications are a major stress, and I am right in the middle of that. I have already sent in my top choice and cannot wait to hear back on that one.
And lastly:
For those who don't know. Blue Springs South football is now 10-0 and well on their way to state :) (not that I'm being cocky or anything). I'm really excited to see how the rest of the play-offs go.
Alright. Now that I've told you my life story, I'm done! Hope everything is going well for you all and I can't wait till we meet again!

Sincerely,
Kristin Raby
MO DECA State Secretary

Hey Everybody,

I have been pretty busy this week: working on the newspaper, writing college essays for a bunch of different schools, and so many other things. Also, I have been encouraging people to vote and selling my famous STUD T-Shirts (Seniors Turning Up Democracy). On Saturday, I met with Leigh, last year’s State President, and we discussed a variety of topics. She wishes everyone the best of luck and wanted us to know that we are welcome to look to her for any help. She is so cool, I just wish I had an accent! I want all of the DVPs to start looking around their district and talking to various chapters to identify businesses that have a strong relationship with DECA. More on this in an upcoming email. If you need anything or have any questions, don’t be a stranger. This is going to be an awesome year, and a classic CDC! I will be in Jeff City on Friday to watch my Francis Howell Central Spartans beat Jeff City. See you at the dome Kristin…

DECA love,
Wesley

DECA NEWS-
I'm busy working on my POA and trying to figure out all of the activities I want to plan this year. I will be planning a chapter president meeting soon and designing a D6 t-shirt. Lately, I have been really busy with the fundraiser I am in charge of at my school, (which by the way we raised over $3500 for the student at my school who has Cystic Fibrois in less than 2 weeks-not too shabby.) However, I will feel a lot better after I talk to the chapter presidents about ideas and whatnot.

MY LIFE-
I also turn 18 soon-Nov 14! and I am so glad elections are over because I was about to go crazy with the commercials and phone calls!! For Halloween, Allie and I dressed up as DECA Dorks-we'll have to show everyone pictures-it was great! Other than all of that, school is all I do. I'm very sad we will not be able to physically see everyone until January :'(

Hello my dear Team 59!

well DECA News first i suppose:

I completed my first attempt at a POA and sent it off to Mr. Young, only to realize i sent it to the wrong e-mail which for future reference, don't send it to his gmail account!

I sent it to the right one yesterday, his dese.org one. He is reading it over and will be responding soon I hope with feedback!

My DECA Chapter News:

I've been really busy working with my committee for fundraising. we're doing TableShops and Trivia which is a great fundraiser if you all are looking.
Our November social is coming up soon, and we've decorated our school store with turkey hands (you know, the ones you made back in the day!) it's great fun!

I'm so incredibly stoked about this upcoming year!!! I love working with each and every one of you guys! You all are fantastic!

I dressed up as a DECA Dork too! I actually heard about Miss Allie and Miss Jordan from Monica, and my youth group had its halloween party on that wednesday (despite it being november). it was great fun!

if you guys have ANY ideas whatsoever about this fashion show or anything with social intelligence, or if you just want to talk, or if you need ANYTHING let me know!

TEAM 59,

Hey everyone! Wow I miss you guys already! I wish we could be back at the lake right now!:)Okay, the actual point of this message is to tell you what I've been up to so here it goes...
DECA Life-
Well I have been researching every organization imaginable to find the perfect match for our State Fundraiser, and I have found some AMAZING charities. However, I have not yet heard back from Mr. Young on what he wants to do, so I'll let you know what is going on, as soon as I know. (If you have an really awesome ideas, email me and tell me about them.) I have also decided that I want to continue the State-wide Service Week that Dana established last year. My chapter just finished our "Carve Out Cystic Fibrosis" fundraiser and it went very well.

As for my daily life, I have been applying to UNC and searching for some other schools that are known for journalism and broadcasting. I'm anxious to finish up the applying process, and know where I'm headed to next fall. And defintely ready to be un-stressed. I just turned 18 as well, and my fabulous friends threw me a suprise birthday party. Everyone did a very good job of keeping it a secret because I had no clue about it. Jordan and Wes can testify that I freaked out a bit when they all popped out at me. Well that's about it. I hope all of you are doing well. Can't wait to meet again in January!

Sincerely,

Allie Steiner

Isaac's Update:

Team 59,

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing great things in their districts and personal lives. Currently, in District 7 I'm preparing a luncheon for all chapter Presidents and their advisors on Thursday, November 16, 2006. I will be using this luncheon as a social meeting so that all of the Presidents can meet each other and I can meet all of them too. Also, at the luncheon, I'll be giving a survey to all the Presidents in my district to explain the ideas that I have for this year in District 7 to see which are popular and which are not. Finally, at the luncheon, I will be kicking off the District 7 Toys for Tots Campaign.

In addition to that, I just sent out my first newsletter and I am in the process of prepping everything for my meeting with the District Advisor.

Personally, I've been working for Claire McCaskill and getting my class' committee ready for prom preparations.

JUST TO INFORM EVERYONE, THE DEMOCRATS TOOK THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND WILL SOON BE DOING THE SAME IN THE SENATE!!

District 7 Vice President

Oh Team 59,
After a rough...I mean normal day at school...I sit down to check up on you 16 amazing officers and you always seem to make my day a little better. Ok, I know that's cheesy, but you guys are doing an amazing job in each of your own districts and we will soon be doing an amazing job at the state level as well. I just wanted to let you know that we are reading and checking in on you even though we don't post everyday. Keep up the awesome work and let us know if you need anything.

Hey everybody! Hope you guys are all doin good! Onto my update, life has been super busy lately, as i'm sure it has for all of you! Just last night District 3 had our "Mini Competitive Events Night". THis is something that our district has done for a few years now, we all get together and do role-plays and testing, as a sort of practice for the real competition in February. It went great, in fact we're in the process of planning another in January, I cant wait. Other Deca Stuff: Im also in the process of contacting all the chapter presidents and advisors in my district, and setting up some type of meeting, it's still in the works! Also, as kristin said, out chapter's book fair and blood drive are coming up, we're getting excited!
As for my crazy little life, it's goin good. I'm at work 42,000 hours a week (ok, maybe not that long, but it feels like it!!), and like most of you i'm trying to get through this college stuff, it seems like scholarship deadlines are coming faster and faster! but all in all life is great, i can't wait to get together again with you all, keep in touch everybody!!
